Be a Seeker

A friend of mine does not like sunflowers. In fact, she finds the tall, rough stemmed annuals intimidating as their coarsely toothed, rough leaves and circular heads droop menacingly as if waiting for a victim to devour. Each time I look out my kitchen window, I see a different image of the huge, fiery blossoms growing there. With the passing of the sun, each proud bloom holds its head high, turning its smiling face toward the sun’s rays of light and warmth. We can take a lesson from this plant native to the Americas by continually looking for God and all He has for us. (Psalm 69.32, Proverbs 8:17)
