Hmmm… The Last but Necessary

Ok, this will be the last but necessary post about Groundhog Day as it came to my attention that some of you may not know what this day is all about. Frankly, I have no idea; maybe to break up the winter blahs. However, according to the Punxsutawney Groundhog Club, “Groundhog Day, February 2nd, is a popular tradition in the United States. It is also a legend that traverses centuries, its origins clouded in the mists of time with ethnic cultures and animals awakening on specific dates. Myths such as this tie our present to the distant past when nature did indeed influence our lives. It is the day that the Groundhog comes out of his hole after a long winter sleep to look for his shadow. If he sees it, he regards it as an omen of six more weeks of bad weather and returns to his hole. If the day is cloudy and, hence, shadowless, he takes it as a sign of spring and stays above ground.” The PGC claims Phil’s predictions are 100% correct but my memory tells me past forecasts have called for spring in February. Hmmm… I am so happy we do not have to depend on a bucktoothed furry mammal for determining our future. The One who created us, knows our every thought and move, has that all under control. (Psalm 139)

  1. May we never take delight in those things that hurt God or others but see them with sadness even though we are forgiven in Christ Jesus of all of our past sins but thankfully when we are Born again with God’s seed we have freedom from sin and will no loger sin.

1 John 3:1-11 (9) No one who is Born of God will continue to sin, because God’s seed remains in him; he cannot go on sinning, because he has been born of God.

John 8:34-36 Jesus replied, “I tell you the truth, everyone who sins is a slave to sin. Now a slave has no permanent place in the family, but a son belongs to it forever. So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.

    Great message Karin thank you.

    Christian Love Anne.

    • Groundhog Day as an anniversary date? Oh, dear!

      May God grant you always…

      A sunbeam to warm you,

      A moonbeam to charm you,

A sheltering angel, so nothing can harm you.
