Hmmm… Those Itchy Ears

Today is February 2, Ground Hog Day, and Punxsutawney Phil saw his own shadow declaring six more weeks of winter. I do not think he relayed this message to the skunks and springtime flowers. The foul smell of those black-and-white mammals has polluted the air for days and my crocus and daffodils are poking their heads out the ground. Then again, this well-respected, furry short-legged animal may have passed along his proclamation to these hibernating creations, who listened instead to the unseasonably warm temperatures fooling them into thinking the March equinox, the beginning of spring in the northern hemisphere, has arrived. Their ears were itchy for what they wanted to hear, something to make them feel good, not the truth their God-given instincts, and Phil, were telling them. (2 Timothy 4:1-5) Hmmm… how often do our ears prickle for something other than the truth?

  1. Right on! Let’s enjoy the beauty of the seasons God created as they are. I don’t need P-Phil to know that spring will arrive in about 6 weeks. It always does because that’s how HE created it to be. Oh, by the way, since this is a holiday (of sorts) I will be serving ground hog for dinner 😉

  2. Thank you Karin what a great way to present your message, you are very gifted, your also very focued on God’s Truth which I respect you for greatly. Yes it is easy to say what others want to hear and your sure to have a large following but many walked away from Jesus …how dare He tell us not to sin! but how many seek to know Him today and in Eternity He will have more Likes then we could ever count … God’s Truth always has the Victory and He will uphold all those who share it.

    Christian Love Anne.

    • Thank you Anne. This mild winter we are having had me thinking in many directions for days but my thoughts remained disjointed until this morning when I remembered the occassion here in America. I’m glad we don’t have to depend on a woodchuck for determining our future. The One we follow has that all under control.

      Keep the Faith!
