An interesting hmmm. Is it ever right to do what is wrong? If we look at the person of Jesus, he was always choosing to do the “wrong” thing according to the “right” people of his day, which leads us to question the connection between our choices and truth. To know right and wrong, or I should say right from wrong, we must have a clear understanding of truth. (John 8:31-32, 2 Timothy 3:16, 2 Corinthians 13:8)

  1. Hi Sis, sorry I left you a bit up in the air but I felt my last comment was long enough, so I will recap now. 😀

    God’s Love is not the same as man’s, we need His Love if we are to Love Him and others , ask and we will receive and this includes Faith if we have any doubts, then by putting our flesh to death by The Spirit and being Born again we have His Love and we will show we do. If we Love someone we will choose by our actions and words to show it, which is why Love is an action not just a word and yes it is also an emotion, but when love is motivated by the flesh it is selfish.

    God tells us in 1 John 5:2-4 By this we know that we Love the children of God, when we Love God, and keep His Commandments. For this is the Love of God, that we keep His Commandments: and His Commandments are not grievous. For whatsoever is Born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.

    As I shared with you before Sis when we Love, we don’t want to hurt God or others that is what all of God’s Commandments are about, so how do we know if someone Loves in their heart, it is shown in their words and actions, they will choose to Love and by God’s empowering they will .

  2. The greatest commandment, according to Jesus, is that we love the Lord our God with all of our heart, soul, mind, and strength. If we make loving Him our priority, everything else will fall in line. We don’t need to be rule followers, like the Pharisees were; we need to be God lovers.

    We like following rules. It’s easy to measure our progress and so easy to compare ourselves to others. We know exactly how much better we are than ‘that guy’ over there. The problem is that God knows and judges the heart, something very difficult for us to do. Much harder to judge how much a person loves God than to judge how well he keeps commandments 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 & 10.

    Jesus loved His Father above all things – even above keeping the Law. He did, what I like to call, “coloring outside the lines.” But O how perfect and beautiful the pictures He colored!

  3. Hmmm…this really got me thinking Karin! Thanks for engaging my mind as always. I believe that doing what God’s commandments require is my utmost priority regardless of what human law or view says or thinks about it. There’s are no relatives where truth is concerned. Thanks again

  4. Breaking the Sabbath. Forgiving sinners. Not washing their hands according to the religious ritual. Touching the leprous. Eating with tax collectors. Holding a lonely conversation with a woman – and a Samaritan at that! Calling God His “Father.” Claiming equality with God. All considered by the religious to be wrong, sinful, ungodly, and against the Law of God; yet right, holy, in the image of the Father, and in accordance with the rule of love and mercy.

  5. Hi Sis, I read your post just before I went to bed and yes I did wake up with it on my mind, thank you,

    We know something is wrong if it hurts God, others or ourselves, this is what the 10 Commandments are all about and also the 2 most important Commandments, which are to Love God and others, when we Love with God’s Love, we don’t hurt God, others or ourselves.

    What about God’s discipline …why are we being disciplined, we are doing something wrong which means we are hurting God, others or ourselves or all three, we reap what we sow both good and bad but so do others and if negative, we are wrong again.

    Sometimes, Truth hurts but it only hurts if we are doing wrong or are in error.

    I did a Post about white lies and deception ( see link below) but some of those mentioned can’t really be called by these names because they don’t hurt God, others or ourselves, they do the opposite…. they are for good not evil.
