Blog Awards

Blog awards are a fun way to support and encourage fellow bloggers in their attempt to share what is on their hearts. This page is dedicated to each blog award sent to me while giving you

  • a link to the creator
  • an image of the award badge
  • the rules for accepting the award (if any)
  • and a link to the one who presented the award to me

(For some, an internet search did not clearly reveal all the information listed above)

Creator: Hulda at Husfruas Memoarer

Conditions of acceptance: After an internet search, it is clear these are not the original. However, these were attached to the award when gifted to me. Thank the person who nominated you. Match 7 of your articles to the 7 descriptions below: The Most Beautiful, The Most Helpful, The Most Popular,  The Most Controversial, The Most Surprisingly Successful, The Most Underrated, and The Most Pride Worthy. Finally, nominate 7 blogs that you think are worthy of receiving the 7×7 Link Award.

Presented by: Drusilla Mott
Creator: The origins of the Liebster Blog award are somewhat unclear but the general consensus is that it originated in Germany, Liebster meaning favorite or dearest, to showcase bloggers with fewer than 200 followers. Upon accepting the award the recipient must then pass it on to five more blogs of note.

Conditions for acceptance: Choose FIVE up and coming blogs to award the Liebster to. Blogs must have less than 200 followers. Show your thanks to the blogger who gave you the award by linking back to them. Post the award on your blog. List the bloggers you gave the award to with links to their sites

Ten Commandments Award

Creator: a little research found the meaning behind this award but not its creator

The “Mrs. Sparkly’s Ten Commandments Award” has to do with a woman of the same name, known for being very elegant and having high expectations, and who is committed to maintaining integrity, good manners and behavior, as well as a rich sense of humor.  I like to think that perhaps I have some of those qualities to a degree and I know of many others who do also. Note… Even though much of what I write has a serious tone to it, I feel that I can and do have a humorous nature and appreciation of same.

Conditions for acceptance: Besides acknowledging the giver of this award and finding a home for the award on your page, you must answer the following ten questions and nominate ten blogs that you think deserve the award.

1. Describe yourself in seven words. 2. What keeps you up at night? 3. Whom would you like to be? 4. What are you wearing now? 5. What scares you? 6. What are the best and worst things about blogging? 7. What was the last website you looked at? 8. If you could change one thing about yourself what would it be?  9. Slankets, yes or no 10. Tell us something about the person who nominated you.

Conditions for acceptance: Select the blog(s) you think deserve the ‘Blog of the Year 2012’ Award. Write a blog post and tell us about the blog(s) you have chosen – there’s no minimum or maximum number of blogs required – and ‘present’ them with their award. Please include a link back to this page ‘Blog of the Year 2012’ Awardhttp://thethoughtpalette.co.uk/our-awards/blog-of-the-year-2012-award/ and include these ‘rules’ in your post (please don’t alter the rules or the badges!) Let the blog(s) you have chosen know that you have given them this award and share the ‘rules’ with them. You can now also join our Facebook page – click the link here ‘Blog of the Year 2012’ Award Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/groups/BlogoftheYear/ and then you can share your blog with an even wider audience. As a winner of the award – please add a link back to the blog that presented you with the award – and then proudly display the award on your blog and sidebar … and start collecting stars…Yes – that’s right – there are stars to collect! Unlike other awards which you can only add to your blog once – this award is different! When you begin you will receive the ‘1 star’ award – and every time you are given the award by another blog – you can add another star! There are a total of 6 stars to collect. Which means that you can check out your favourite blogs – and even if they have already been given the award by someone else – you can still bestow it on them again and help them to reach the maximum 6 stars! (Click on the link above to learn how to display more stars.)

  1. I want to thank you for this post. I have been uncomfortable with awards from the beginning, and declined acceptance on my own blog.. .

    • You are most welcome, selah. We must encourage and support each other in our effort to share God’s story, “awards” are a way to do that. If you read any post about blog awards, you know it is not the awards I object to but the requirements behind most of them.

  2. This is really cool the way you did this–I was one who tried to do internet searches, a largely futile excercise. So, I like this–thanks! God bless you abundantly today.

    • You are welcome, Caddo. I found the internet search of these awards educational as many awards deviate from their original creation as they pass from one blogger to another. Hence, the reason for this page.
